After thorough analysis by digital forensics experts, disturbing insights emerged about Bryan Kohberger, the 30-year-old criminologist who was convicted for a series of murders. The analysis of his cellphone uncovered striking similarities between Kohberger and Patrick Bateman, the fictional protagonist of the film and novel ‘American Psycho.’ The chilling findings revealed that Kohberger spent Christmas night—just a month following the tragic slayings—immersed in reading numerous articles about notorious serial killers.
Heather Barnhart, a senior director of forensics research at the globally recognized digital investigations firm Cellebrite, drew parallels between Kohberger’s behavior and that of Bateman. She explained, “I watched ‘American Psycho’ back in the day, and how vain he was, where he would always take like naked photos of himself flexing… It was like he admired his body.”
Her husband, Jared Barnhart, who is a former police officer, echoed her observations, stating, “He takes his shirt off, flexes his muscles, and takes a picture of himself, and then just goes back to whatever he was doing before. Uncovered selfies include Kohberger displaying a thumbs-up while smiling in his bathroom hours after the murders, despite having visible injuries. The Barnharts highlighted that he appeared to have abrasions on his hands, suggesting a frantic cleaning endeavor after the attacks.
