Bryson DeChambeau Praises President Trump’s Golf Skills Ahead of LIV Golf Tournament

On June 6, LIV Golf will launch a highly anticipated tournament near the heart of the nation’s capital, drawing excitement from golf fans and players alike. Among those participating is Bryson DeChambeau, who has been vocal about the inspiration he has drawn from President Donald Trump’s golfing prowess.

As Crushers GC Captain, DeChambeau has been busy preparing for the tournament set to take place at the esteemed Robert Trent Jones Golf Club. In an interview, he recounted some of his adventurous encounters, including an unforgettable helicopter ride to the stunning Utah Salt Flats, along with a unique opportunity to hit golf balls on the White House south lawn.

Reflecting on this remarkable experience, DeChambeau shared, “Hitting in the White House was incredibly special. I never imagined I would have the chance to do that. But when the president himself encouraged me, saying, ‘just go out there and hit some shots,’ I couldn’t help but feel honored and thrilled,”

DeChambeau, a two-time U.S. Open Champion, currently ranks at the top of the LIV Golf leaderboard. He expressed admiration for President Trump during his conversation with FOX, specifically noting Trump’s impressive ability to strike the golf ball.

“I admire how straight he hits the golf ball off the tee. It’s pretty impressive. For his age and considering how well he plays, it’s admirable that he manages to tackle the world’s problems while being as skilled a golfer as he is,” DeChambeau added.

Phil Mickelson’s Insights on LIV Golf

Phil Mickelson, a six-time major champion, also shared his thoughts with the media during a press conference on Wednesday. With the U.S. Open scheduled for June 12 at Oakmont, Mickelson was asked about his potential participation. He emphasized his commitment to the team dynamic, particularly focusing on his role within the HyFlyers GC.

“I want this team to succeed. I don’t want to hold it back. If I’m holding it back, then it’s time for me to move on and let someone else step in,” Mickelson stated, showcasing his dedication to the team’s success.

Team Collaborations and Philanthropic Efforts

Mickelson was on stage accompanied by his teammates Andy Ogletree, Brendan Steele, and Cameron Tringale. Together, they celebrated a significant milestone achieved in their partnership with Bunkers in Baghdad, represented by founder Joe Hanna.

The collaboration’s impact has been noteworthy, with the team reporting that they have donated over 16 million golf balls and 1.6 million golf clubs to U.S. troops stationed around the globe. This initiative highlights the community spirit and commitment the LIV Golf players have towards supporting the armed forces.

Global Expansion of LIV Golf

During his address, Mickelson elaborated on LIV’s ambitious plan for global expansion since forming the league three years ago. His vision entails fostering competition among the best players worldwide, giving them the platform to play against each other more frequently and on a more international scale.

“We want all the best players in the world to be able to compete against each other more often and on a global scale,” Mickelson conveyed. “The previous model I was part of for decades just didn’t support that kind of competition.” This commentary reflects the evolving landscape of professional golf and the opportunities presented by LIV Golf.
