WNBA standout Caitlin Clark is set to showcase her golfing skills once more as she prepares to participate in the LPGA Tour’s renowned Annika pro-am later this fall. The Indiana Fever guard will join fellow athletes at the prestigious event, as confirmed by the organizers.
Scheduled for November 12, the 2025 Annika pro-am will take place in Belleair, Florida. This year’s event will see LPGA Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam return as host, further enhancing the tournament’s allure.
The Annika pro-am represents the last full-field event of the LPGA’s regular season. With an impressive purse of $3.25 million, this tournament stands out as a key highlight on the golfing calendar.
Clark, who participated in the event last year, reflected on her time at the tournament, calling it an amazing experience. She expressed her enthusiasm about returning, stating, “I had an amazing time at The Annika last November. Playing alongside Nelly Korda and Annika Sorenstam, two of the best in the game, was unforgettable.”
As an ambassador for Gainbridge, a company committed to promoting women’s sports, Clark is eager to play in the pro-am. She emphasizes the importance of elevating female athletics and expresses her excitement about competing again in Tampa this November. Clark stated, “I can’t wait to return and play with the best women golfers in the world.”
Despite a remarkable start to her career, Clark faced challenges during the 2025 season due to injuries that limited her appearances. After receiving the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year title, she played in just 13 games, averaging 16.5 points and 8.8 assists per game.
Nevertheless, during her absence, the Indiana Fever achieved a significant milestone by winning their first playoff series in ten years. The team triumphed over the Atlanta Dream in the first round, although they were ultimately defeated by the Aces in the semifinals. The Aces then celebrated their third championship in four years.
Annika Sorenstam shared her admiration for Clark following their time together at the pro-am. She praised Clark’s enthusiasm for golf and her competitive spirit, stating, “It was an honor to play in the pro-am with Caitlin last year. The crowds were amazing, and we are excited for her return to The Annika in November. She added a fantastic dynamic to our event, and witnessing her passion for golf was delightful.”
The excitement surrounding the Annika pro-am continues to grow as Clark and Sorenstam prepare for this year’s tournament. Fans can look forward to Clark’s return, where she will undoubtedly bring her competitive edge and charming personality to the course.
As both athletes share their experiences and passion for the sport, the event promises to engage spectators and inspire the next generation of golfers. Women’s sports are being highlighted in a powerful way, and Clark’s participation only serves to elevate this momentum.
With great expectations set for this year’s event, sports enthusiasts and fans alike are eager to witness the thrilling competition at the Annika pro-am. Be sure to follow the tournament as it draws closer for all the latest updates and developments.
