Caitlin Clark may currently be out due to an injury, but that hasn’t dampened her playful spirit. The talented guard is not hesitating to have some fun with her Indiana Fever teammate, Lexie Hull, as the team navigates through the challenges of her absence.
Recently, the Fever took to social media to give fans an inside look at some of their players. In an Instagram post, Hull shared snippets about her life, revealing her roots from Spokane, Washington, her beloved dog named Libby, and a unique food combination she adores.
Hull’s peculiar preference? She candidly noted her love for “A1 & Cheddar.”
This fun tidbit caught the attention of Clark, who humorously questioned the choice on Instagram. She wrote, “A1 and cheddar. What does that even mean? Is she putting A1 sauce on cheese? Huhhhhhh,” followed by several cry-laughing emojis.
In response, Hull clarified her culinary habit, saying, “Cut up cheddar cheese. Dip it in A1 sauce. Thank me later.” This light-hearted exchange showcases the camaraderie and friendship the two players share.
Clark and Hull’s bond has strengthened significantly since the Fever selected Clark as the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Their friendship evolved not just on the court but off it as well, creating a notable dynamic within the team.
Since Clark’s arrival, Hull has witnessed progressively positive changes in her performance. During the 2023 season, Hull averaged 4.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. However, following Clark’s joining, Hull’s averages rose to 5.5 points per game, and she even received votes for 6th Player of the Year Award, indicating her development on the team.
As the 2025 season unfolds, Hull has made a striking start in her initial seven games. She is currently boasting an average of 10.4 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Notably, her shooting efficiency has seen a remarkable improvement, with her field-goal percentage rising from 44.1% last year to an impressive 54.5% this year.
However, despite Hull’s progress and the contributions from other players, the Fever have struggled to find their rhythm without their star player, Clark.
The Indiana Fever currently stand at a 3-4 record as they navigate through the season. The absence of Clark has undoubtedly impacted the team’s ability to secure victories. Most recently, the Fever achieved a commendable win against the Washington Mystics in the first Commissioner’s Cup Game, finishing the match with a score of 83-77. This victory highlights the potential of the team, even in challenging circumstances.
As the Fever move forward, the focus will remain on Clark’s recovery. Her leadership and skill are vital to the team’s success. Fans remain hopeful for her swift return, which could reinvigorate the team’s competitive edge.
Both Clark and Hull embody the spirit of teamwork and resilience that defines the Fever organization. As they continue to build their connection, fans eagerly anticipate what the future holds for this dynamic duo, especially as they seek to elevate the team’s performance throughout the remaining season.
