Cancer Survivor Shares Life-Saving Dietary Changes That Transformed Her Health

Liana Werner-Gray embarked on a significant health journey 15 years ago when she was diagnosed with cancer. Today, she attributes her survival to profound changes in her diet and lifestyle, insisting that these adjustments were crucial for her recovery.

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Werner-Gray discussed her health transformation on Capitol Hill during a hearing featuring Robert F. Kennedy Jr. While her story exemplifies resilience, it also emphasizes the role of dietary choices in managing health.

Diagnosis Sparks a Life-Altering Decision

At just 21 years old, Werner-Gray was informed that she had a tumor in her lymphatic system, along with chronic fatigue and digestive issues. Hailing from Australia, she found herself grappling with these health challenges while considering her next steps.

According to Werner-Gray, “The lymphatic system is the body’s sewage system. The only reason you get cancer in your lymphatic system is because you have too many toxins in your body.” This revelation sparked a determination within her to investigate the impact of her dietary habits.

Detox and Diet: A New Approach

Rather than opting for conventional cancer treatments like chemotherapy, surgery, or radiation, Werner-Gray decided to radically alter her diet. Partnering with a naturopath and a functional doctor, she initiated what she called a “massive detox plan,” concentrating on enhancing her gut health.

“I knew it was because of my diet; my diet was horrendous,” she confessed. As she implemented these changes, positive results followed swiftly. “After three months, the tumor had completely dissolved,” she reported, highlighting the remarkable impact of nutrition on her recovery.

Creating The Earth Diet

Following her recovery, Werner-Gray felt compelled to share her experience and inspire others. She launched “The Earth Diet,” initially a blog focusing on the natural foods she consumed to heal her body. This initiative emphasizes connecting with nature through nutritional choices.

“The Earth Diet is all about going back to nature and eating foods from nature, foods that God provides us with naturally,” she elaborated. Werner-Gray’s book, also titled “The Earth Diet,” was published in 2014, five years post-recovery, and has since been followed by several other works detailing her insights into healing through food.

The Need for Health Advocacy

Werner-Gray advocates for the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement, which seeks to address dietary issues in the U.S. “Over 1,600 people die from cancer each day in the U.S., and that’s simply unacceptable,” she stated. She strongly believes that cancer prevention is achievable through various changes, particularly in nutrition. “There are many, many cures for cancer other than conventional treatments,” she asserted.

Dr. Marc Siegel, a clinical professor of medicine at NYU Langone Health, emphasized the importance of a balanced approach to cancer treatment. Although he acknowledged the potential for spontaneous remission in cancers, he noted, “Diet and exercise have been shown to play a huge role in cancer treatment and recovery.”

The Complex Landscape of Cancer Treatment

Cancer treatment is deeply personal and varies greatly among individuals. Nicole Saphier, M.D., an associate professor at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, highlighted that each patient’s journey is unique. “What works for one person might not be effective for another,” she noted, advocating for a balanced approach where natural treatments complement traditional methods.

It is vital that patients receive comprehensive information on both the benefits and risks of their treatment options to make informed decisions about their health. “I have seen many people suffer and die who have forgone traditional treatment for natural methods alone,” Saphier explained, underscoring the need for caution in navigating cancer therapies.

Empowered Choices for Better Health

The discussion surrounding cancer prevention and treatment continues to evolve. Whether through dietary changes or conventional methods, the focus on personalized health strategies has never been more critical. As Werner-Gray’s story illustrates, informed dietary choices can play a substantial role in fighting serious illnesses. In her view, change is possible, and a renewed emphasis on nutrition and health can lead to healthier outcomes for many.
