Charges Dropped Against Doctor Accused of COVID Vaccine Fraud

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on Saturday that all charges against Dr. Kirk Moore, a Utah-based plastic surgeon, have been dismissed. Moore faced allegations of destroying COVID-19 vaccines and providing children with falsified vaccination records at the behest of their parents.

In a statement posted on X, Bondi confirmed, “At my direction, the Justice Department has dismissed charges against Dr. Moore. He offered his patients a choice when federal authorities did not. He did not deserve the years in prison he was facing, and now it is over.”

Moore, who recently had his trial commence, was previously facing decades behind bars for allegedly wrecking more than $28,000 worth of COVID-19 vaccines and illegally distributing hundreds of vaccination record cards.

Understanding the Allegations Against Dr. Moore

In January 2023, the plastic surgeon was indicted by a federal grand jury on multiple charges. Prosecutors claimed that he, alongside three co-defendants, operated a scheme through his practice, the Plastic Surgery Institute of Utah Inc., that aimed to defraud the federal government and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Political Reactions and Advocacy

On Tuesday, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia announced her intention to write to the Justice Department, requesting the dismissal of charges against Moore. She expressed her view on X, stating, “This man is a hero, not a criminal. The charges were filed under Biden’s DOJ, not Trump.”

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also voiced support for Moore on X in April, asserting, “Dr. Moore deserves a medal for his courage and his commitment to healing!” Greene went on to thank Attorney General Bondi for her decision. She posted, “Thank you AG Pam Bondi for dropping the wrongful charges against Dr. Kirk Moore! We must never allow our government to become tyrannical under our watch.”

In her statement, Bondi credited Greene for bringing Moore’s case to her attention. She described Greene as a strong advocate for Moore and against the perceived weaponization of government.

Ongoing Political Tensions

The announcement comes amid growing calls for Bondi’s resignation from certain factions within the Trump-supporting community. This sentiment arises following a recent joint review by the Justice Department and the FBI, which debunked claims about a supposed Jeffrey Epstein client list. The review found no concrete evidence tying elite individuals to Epstein’s crimes.

Furthermore, public outrage has surged regarding Epstein’s death while imprisoned in New York City in 2019. The authorities concluded he committed suicide while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. A controversial surveillance video, allegedly depicting no one entering Epstein’s cell in the hours leading to his death, has only spurred further conspiracy theories, particularly due to a missing minute in the footage.
