Charges Filed Against ‘Transgender Antifa’ Extremist for Attempted Murder After Rep. Mace Raises Concerns

A self-identified extremist associated with Antifa and identifying as transgender has been charged with attempted murder following a disturbing death threat aimed at Representative Nancy Mace. This legal action occurs months after authorities reportedly disregarded warnings about the suspect, raising serious questions about judicial processes and public safety.

Republican Representative Nancy Mace, representing South Carolina, has spoken out about the arrest of Michael Richard Fadich, who also goes by the alias “Rem Heathen.” Mace asserts that her previous warnings about Fadich’s threats went unheeded, which she believes allowed for a preventable shooting to transpire.

Explicit Threats and Lack of Action

In May 2025, Fadich made a striking post on Instagram that depicted a gun aimed directly at Mace’s face. Mace recalled, “The message was unmistakable: he wanted me dead.” Following this alarming communication, her office promptly reported the threat to legal authorities, but to Mace’s frustration, no charges were pursued.

She expressed her dismay, stating, “Prosecutors did nothing.” Mace’s concerns escalated when, six months later, Fadich was arrested for allegedly shooting another individual in Portland just a month prior to his charges. She emphasized that a man is now hospitalized because the system failed to intervene when it had the opportunity to do so.

Details of the Shooting Incident

Portland police have indicated that the attempted murder charges against Fadich connect to a shooting that took place in December 2025. Officers responding to reports of gunfire discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds behind an apartment complex. Fortunately, the victim was hospitalized but is expected to recover from injuries that were not deemed life-threatening.

During the police investigation, authorities identified Fadich, who goes by the name Heathen, as one of the individuals involved. The investigation led to the seizure of multiple firearms, including rifles and handguns, ensuring they would not pose further danger.

Legal Proceedings and Indictment

A grand jury has since indicted Heathen on charges that include attempted murder, assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and coercion. On January 8, he was apprehended in California and subsequently transferred to custody in Oregon to face charges. Another suspect was arrested in connection with weapons and coercion charges related to the case.

Currently, Heathen is held at the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, with jail records identifying the suspect as female. Mace has raised serious concerns about the implications of judicial negligent actions surrounding this case, claiming that “this blood is on the hands of every prosecutor who looked at this threat and looked away.” Mace further stated a prayer for the safety of the women residing with Fadich.

Warnings Ignored and Consequences Faced

Mace has pointed out that Fadich’s social media presence is filled with Antifa propaganda, expressions of violence, and overt threats toward others. She noted disturbing pictures showing Fadich posing with Antifa flags and owning an AR-15 alongside multiple handguns. Mace commented, “Every warning sign was there. Nothing was done.”

In a post on X, Mace reiterated her fears, stating, “A transgender Antifa member who made violent death threats against me has now been arrested on attempted murder charges.” She directed her anger at the prosecutors who failed to act after she reported the threats, saying, “You had the chance to stop him, and you didn’t, and someone took a bullet for it.”

The Call for Justice

In the wake of this incident, Mace has called for a thorough investigation by the Department of Justice and FBI to understand why federal prosecutors chose not to take action against Fadich when the threats were first reported. She is advocating for an assessment of whether Fadich should face federal charges for the threatened violence against a congressional representative.

Mace firmly stated, “To the violent extremists, your threats won’t silence us.” Her words capture the weight of her frustrations, illustrating the broader implications of unchecked threats and the responsibilities of law enforcement to protect citizens.

A System Under Scrutiny

The situation surrounding Fadich’s threats and the subsequent shooting raises significant concerns regarding the judicial system’s responsiveness to threats of violence. Mace has highlighted how the failure of prosecutors to act has grave consequences for public safety. She remarked, “When prosecutors do their job, lives are saved,” pointing to another case where a suspect remains incarcerated due to similar threats made against her. Mace concluded, emphasizing the importance of accountability in the justice system, which should not enable violence.
