Bill Belichick’s recent romantic relationship with Jordon Hudson has captured significant media attention following a revealing television interview.
During a promotional tour for his new book titled ‘The Art of Winning — Lessons from My Life in Football,’ Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson faced allegations of attempting to dominate the conversation during the interview with CBS News Sunday Morning.

During a conversation with long-time sports broadcaster Dan Patrick, Barkley described Belichick as a close friend. ‘This is a very slippery subject for me because Bill’s one of my really good friends,’ he remarked. ‘I don’t — I’m not sure what’s going on. He’s been a great friend for me for a long time. We’ve been friends since he coached for the Browns. I think he’s got to be very careful right now. This situation is taking a turn that raises some concerns.’
Significantly, Barkley emphasized that he usually refrains from discussing personal relationships in public. However, he pointed out that certain aspects of the dynamic between Belichick and Hudson might prompt him to reach out to the head coach of North Carolina football.
‘He’s the greatest football coach ever. Him and Nick Saban. For college, Nick Saban. For Bill, the NFL. From what I’m hearing, it’s starting to be a very slippery slope,’ Barkley continued. ‘I never talk about people’s personal relationships. That’s another rule I stick to. But I am concerned with some of the things going on, and I might actually check in with him to ensure everything is alright.’
During the CBS interview, a question addressing how Belichick and Hudson initially met quickly caught public interest. Hudson’s curt response of ‘We’re not talking about this’ before Belichick had a chance to reply raised eyebrows about the nature of their relationship.
After the interview aired, Belichick publicly addressed his disappointment over the handling of the conversation. He insisted that the focus should have remained solely on his book.
‘I clearly communicated with my publicist at Simon & Schuster that any interviews I participated in would need to focus solely on the book’s content,’ Belichick stated. ‘Unfortunately, that expectation was not met during the interview.’
Furthermore, the six-time Super Bowl-winning coach took issue with CBS’s Tony Dokoupil, accusing him of steering the discussion toward unrelated topics. Belichick claimed that this prompted Hudson to intervene during the conversation.
‘I repeatedly expressed to the reporter, Tony Dokoupil, and the producers that I preferred to keep the conversation centered on the book,’ he added. ‘After this happened several times, Jordon, with whom I share both a personal and professional relationship, stepped in to help tighten the discussion.’
Belichick insisted that Hudson was merely fulfilling her role in keeping the conversation aligned with its intended purpose. ‘She was not deflecting any specific question or topic but simply doing her job to ensure the interview stayed on track.’
Hudson’s influence appears to extend into Belichick’s professional sphere as well. Reports indicate that she played a significant part in North Carolina’s decision to withdraw from participation in HBO’s Hard Knocks. According to sources, Hudson requested to be heavily involved in that project.
The Athletic highlighted that her involvement may have contributed to the cancellation of the proposed docuseries focusing on the North Carolina football program.
Belichick, now 73, and Hudson, 24, have been publicly linked since early 2023, with Belichick noting that their initial meeting occurred on a flight in 2021.
