In the wake of the hurricane, Mayor O’Leary has engaged in ongoing dialogues with FEMA inspectors, who are assessing the destruction to facilitate recovery projects. “I have meetings with FEMA inspectors that are here inspecting the damage so they can move forward on some of the FEMA projects,” O’Leary explained.

Jarvis mentioned his current project involves creating a boulder wall for a property where a home was swept away by the hurricane.

“Trying to build back the best we can and give people back what they lost. If we can’t give them a house, we can give them a place to build a house,” Jarvis stated, highlighting the community spirit driving recovery efforts.
