Following her tenure at Vanguard, Sanchez advanced to positions at Goldman Sachs, State Street, and First Trust. Along the way, she became acutely aware of the concentration of wealth among a small elite. She acknowledged, “Wealth is just super concentrated in the hands of the few. Most people do not have financial literacy.” Working at First Trust, she reflected that her efforts seemed to primarily benefit the affluent, stating: “I think what I’m doing is just helping more rich people get really rich.” While she enjoys accumulating wealth, she asserted, “I just think there should be more of us.”

This epiphany led Sanchez to ponder how she could empower more individuals to achieve ownership, shifting the focus from merely generating profit for Wall Street professionals. She founded Contrarian Thinking, an organization dedicated to educating individuals about the importance of ownership.

“Our mission is to teach people to become owners. We help individuals purchase businesses and flip the script on traditional wealth creation,” she explained, emphasizing the need for community engagement.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sanchez experienced a wave of concern as she perceived a deterioration of personal freedoms. She expressed gratitude for the financial stability that allowed her to resist these encroachments. One personal account highlighted the significance of financial independence. She shared a troubling situation faced by her husband, a Navy SEAL, who was pressured by his employer to violate medical advice despite having a valid exemption.

Sanchez elaborated, “A normal person might be scared of losing their job. But thankfully, I had been in business long enough to push back, stating I would involve my attorney if necessary. It was then I realized that financial security allowed me to challenge the system. They could not exploit my husband’s lack of resources to force compliance.”

Her social media influence surged during the pandemic, an outcome she never anticipated, as she had not initially set out to build an online presence. Today, she boasts millions of followers who turn to her for insights on finance, business, and personal development.

In response to the unprecedented uncertainty of the pandemic, Sanchez began writing a newsletter aimed at promoting critical thinking. She stated, “I thought, maybe people can’t think critically because they’re scared and lack resources. My goal became to enrich people so they could take a stand.”

Sanchez likened financial empowerment to wielding a sword in the modern economy. She asserted, “It’s easier to have a spine when you’ve got a sword. In our 21st-century economy, the sword is money.” This philosophy underpins the content she produces.

Additionally, Sanchez has encapsulated her teachings in written form with her book, aimed at guiding readers toward ownership and income-generating assets. She remarked, “If you want to learn how to become an owner and acquire income-producing assets, I wrote the book to provide that knowledge.”
