The WWE Hall of Fame is set to welcome a remarkable class in 2025, with inductees celebrated during WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas on April 18. The anticipated lineup includes notable figures such as Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Michelle McCool, Lex Luger, and the iconic National Disasters tag team, comprised of Earthquake and Typhoon. A unique addition to this year’s ceremony is the Immortal Moment, commemorating the historic match between “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13.
Undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes will be in Las Vegas, focused on defending his title against John Cena at WrestleMania 41. In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Rhodes, a future Hall of Famer in his own right, discussed fellow WWE stars who deserve immediate induction into the Hall of Fame upon retirement.
Rhodes expressed clear opinions regarding the instant Hall of Fame eligibility of certain wrestlers. “I feel like there are certain people who should immediately go into the Hall of Fame when they’re done wrestling. Love him, hate him, or remain indifferent, John Cena would check a box as somebody who should immediately go into the Hall of Fame. Also, Randy Orton should check a box as somebody who should immediately go into the Hall of Fame,” he stated.
Rhodes took a moment to spotlight his brother, Dustin, known in wrestling circles primarily as Goldust. The persona was a standout performer during WWE’s Attitude Era, distinctly contrasting his father, the legendary Dusty Rhodes.
Dustin Rhodes enjoyed multiple tenures in WWE, where he secured three Intercontinental Championships and seven Hardcore Championships, alongside three tag-team championship wins. His wrestling journey also includes successful runs with TNA Wrestling and World Championship Wrestling. Currently, he competes in All Elite Wrestling, further solidifying his legacy within the sport.
Reflecting on his brother’s influence, Cody Rhodes remarked, “And I’ve oftentimes said my brother had a more significant role in the Attitude Era and moving forward. I think he’s extremely talented. I want to see that not just because I believe he deserves it, which he absolutely does, but I’d love to see our family recognized in that esteemed Hall. The Hall of Fame carries different meanings for different people. To my family, it holds significant weight – it represents achievement, legacy, and respect within the industry.”
Rhodes shared the emotional impact of his father’s induction into the Hall of Fame, emphasizing how much it meant to their family. He conveyed a heartfelt desire to see Dustin joined in this honor, saying, “My dad going in was such a huge deal. I’d love to see him joined by my brother. But also, Randy Orton is someone I’ve been contemplating a lot lately. We have many future Hall of Famers among us who deserve recognition.”
As he prepares for WrestleMania 41, Rhodes continues to stay engaged with fans and the wrestling community. Speaking to Fox News Digital about WWE’s partnership with Clash of Clans, he emphasized the excitement surrounding this year’s main event. This year marks the third consecutive time Rhodes will headline WrestleMania, an accomplishment that reflects his dedication and passion for professional wrestling.
With each passing year, the anticipation for the WWE Hall of Fame grows, highlighting the incredible contributions of wrestlers who have shaped the landscape of professional wrestling. As Cody Rhodes advocates for his brother’s enshrinement, fans cannot help but reflect on the lasting legacies these athletes leave behind.
In the world of professional wrestling, where characters and storylines often dominate the narrative, the Hall of Fame serves as a solemn reminder of the hard work, dedication, and passion that each wrestler contributes to the industry. The celebrations during WrestleMania weekend offer a moment of introspection for fans and wrestlers alike, as they recognize the impact of these Hall of Famers on the wrestling business.
As the WWE continues to evolve, the recognition of legends both past and present ensures that their stories and contributions will never be forgotten. For fans and wrestlers, the Hall of Fame represents not just an accolade, but a celebration of the wrestling community’s spirit and resilience.
