Colombia has recalled its ambassador to the United States in response to escalating tensions and recent comments made by President Donald Trump regarding the South American country’s leadership.
The announcement was made by Colombian Foreign Minister Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio Mapy on a social media platform on Monday.
“President Gustavo Petro Urrego has ordered the recall of Daniel GarcÃa-Peña, the Colombian ambassador to the United States, for consultations,” Mapy stated.
