A Holocaust survivor murdered at the age of 91 and a baby killed just 14 hours after birth are among the harrowing victims identified in the U.K.’s Parliamentary Commission Report dated October 7. This report delivers the most in-depth Western investigation into the horrifying attack launched by Hamas against Israel.
Chairing the significant 318-page report is British historian and peer Lord Andrew Roberts. The document outlines the tragic deaths of 1,182 individuals within a mere 48-hour period while also presenting compelling evidence of the atrocities committed against civilians during this unsettling time.
Within the report, the assault is characterized as a meticulously planned operation intended to inflict not just fatal injuries but to instill terror through extreme brutality, looting, and humiliation. It shares harrowing testimonies detailing instances of group rapes of women and girls, many of whom were subsequently murdered. The document also provides alarming evidence of sexual violence perpetrated against deceased victims. Disturbingly, it describes the targeting of children, including infants shot in strollers or burned alive.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Lord Roberts shared the emotional impact of meeting Mandy Damari, the mother of hostage Emily Damari. He conveyed how her story reduced him to tears. Roberts reminisced about visiting Kibbutz Kfar Aza and listening to the heart-wrenching experiences of families grappling with the unknown fate of their loved ones.
“At that time, she didn’t know whether her 27-year-old daughter, Emily, was going to be released or if she would perish in Gaza,” he recalled. “As a father of a 25-year-old daughter, the experience hit home powerfully for me.”
Despite the chilling nature of the contents, Lord Roberts stressed that the report was intentionally restrained to established facts. “We made the report significantly shorter than it could have been because we insisted on including only items that could be verified,” he said. He emphasized that unverified accounts were excluded to uphold the report’s integrity.
When discussing his motivation for leading this project, Roberts expressed concern over the denialism that quickly emerged following the attacks, which sought to downplay or question October 7 events. “It’s quite ironic that while they indulge in their heinous fantasies, they simultaneously attempt to deny the reality of the horrors that transpired,” he noted.
The report refers to the immediate emergence of “October 7 denial,” reflecting a consistent pattern seen in historical atrocity denial despite overwhelming evidence. “I found it crucial to publish a robustly documented, irrefutable document that stands the test of time,” Roberts stated.
The findings include testimonials about mass looting, arson, and shocking mutilations. Reports indicate that perpetrators even used victims’ mobile phones to send images to their families, booby-trapped corpses with grenades, and dragged bodies through the streets of Gaza. The report confirms that acts of sexual violence occurred across multiple sites during the attack and references forensic findings indicating partially or fully naked bodies.
Lord Roberts described the assault as not merely spontaneous but rather a premeditated display of bloodlust. He drew parallels to historical atrocities such as the Rape of Nanjing, emphasizing how the attackers showed a particular zeal to murder anyone within reach once their bloodlust was unleashed.
