DHS Secretary Kristi Noem Surveys Enhanced Border Security with Helicopter and Horseback Tour

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is actively engaging with Border Patrol agents as part of her commitment to tackling the ongoing illegal immigration crisis. In a recent visit to Del Rio, Texas, Noem participated in a helicopter and horseback tour to observe enhanced border security measures firsthand.

Ride-Along to Support Border Agents

During her tour, Noem communicated her support for the Border Patrol, stating, “Some of the agents we rode with today were the ones that were falsely accused of whipping those Haitian migrants.” This statement references a controversial incident from 2021 that led to unfounded claims against agents by former President Biden and other Democrats.

Noem emphasized the importance of leadership support for agents on the ground. She remarked, “So, to ride with them today and have them know that their leadership has their back is critically important.” She contrasted her approach with that of the previous leadership at DHS, asserting, “Mayorkas rode over them. I think it’s important today that they know I ride with them.”

Crackdown on Illegal Immigration

Noem’s mission aligns with efforts by Trump administration officials to strengthen border security and address illegal immigration. Following her confirmation, she participated in high-profile immigration raids targeting criminal migrants in New York City.

She pointed out that a significant challenge for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents stems from the lack of funding and inadequate resources.
