Martin conveyed to the Washington Post that the goal is clear: “We are the opposition party. Our job is to put the Republicans on their heels, to put them on defense. We have one role, and that is to litigate the case against Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and JD Vance.” This statement underlines the DNC’s focus on a proactive stance in the public discourse.
Additionally, Martin pointed out the strategic advantage the GOP has gained through its aggressive digital tactics since 2020. In his remarks, Martin observed, “I would argue that for three and a half years, they spent time beating the hell out of Joe Biden and the Democrats, really, in an unimpeded way. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung took to social media to express doubts regarding the Democrats’ ability to execute a successful war room operation and criticized their vague commitments and promises. He remarked, “Democrats have no idea how to actually set up a functioning war room and response operation. That’s why they’re pitching stories with vague descriptions and pie-in-the-sky promises that show how far back they are in this race. Team Trump has been doing this since 2016.”
