DOGE Cancels Millions in Federal Contracts While Cutting Wasteful Spending

FIRST ON FOX Elon Musk’s DOGE team has taken decisive action to cancel millions of dollars worth of government contracts that officials have deemed a misuse of taxpayer funds.

A senior administration official revealed to Fox News Digital on Wednesday that DOGE has collaborated with various federal agencies to annul contracts across departments, notably including the Social Security Administration and the Departments of Homeland Security and Labor.

According to the official, “Taxpayer dollars will no longer be wasted on nonsense.” This statement reflects the administration’s commitment to curbing unnecessary expenditures.

Among the canceled contracts, a $36,000 agreement for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) workshops at Homeland Security was terminated. Additionally, a separate contract worth $1 million, which supported the Gender X Initiative, was also scrapped. This initiative involved public-facing applications from the SSA designed to cater to non-binary identities.

Overall, DOGE has made significant cuts at various agencies. For example, at the Department of Agriculture, a $1 million contract aimed at enhancing diversity communication for agricultural professionals was canceled.

Moreover, the Forest Service, a division of USDA, is discontinuing several contracts, including a $375,000 deal for DEI and onboarding services, as well as a $30,000 agreement for a consultant focused on Central America’s gender assessment.

The Department of Agriculture is also retracting a $230,000 contract related to Brazil’s forest and gender consultation services.

In another significant move, the Department of Labor informed that it would cancel a $4 million contract associated with DEI consultation services specifically for its Jobs Corps program.

Another noteworthy cut reflects the Trump administration’s efforts within the Environmental Protection Agency. It is canceling a $100,000 contract to retain a two-year subscription with Gartner HR Leaders. This subscription provided research and advisory services centered on employee experience, diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and work-life integration.

Throughout the Trump administration, hundreds of millions in contracts have been axed across various government departments. Many of these cancellations are linked to DEI initiatives that President Trump criticized during his campaign, arguing that such programs undermine the nation by shifting focus from meritocracy to gender and race.

DOGE announced on January 28 that its efforts are resulting in savings of approximately $1 billion daily for the federal government. These savings predominantly stem from halting unnecessary hiring, eliminating DEI programs, and preventing improper payments to foreign entities, all in accordance with presidential executive orders.

However, the aggressive cuts have not come without controversy. Democratic lawmakers in Congress have voiced strong opposition to DOGE’s actions, contending that they represent a constitutional crisis. Critics argue that the cuts jeopardize essential government programs.

As debates continue within the political sphere, the implications of these cancellations will resonate long into the future. Many observers wonder how the removal of these contracts will affect the broader government landscape, particularly in areas focused on diversity and inclusion.
