A judge in the Dominican Republic has ruled to officially close the case concerning the key witness in the mysterious disappearance of Sudikasha Konanki, a University of Pittsburgh student. This decision marks a significant development in a case that has garnered substantial media attention.
On Friday, Judge Edwin Rijo issued a comprehensive written sentence detailing the legal rationale behind his judgment. He granted the habeas corpus motion filed on behalf of Joshua Steven Ribe, a 22-year-old who is believed to be one of the last individuals to see Konanki alive.

He told investigators that both he and Konanki were swept away from the shore by a strong current and struggled to return. He last observed her walking in knee-deep water before succumbing to fatigue and falling asleep on a beach chair.
