Expert Calls for Cognitive Test Amid Concerns Over Biden’s Fitness for Office

In a recent interview, Jeffrey Kuhlman, who served as the White House physician under former President Barack Obama, expressed that President Joe Biden’s doctor should have conducted a cognitive test to assess Biden’s competency for office. This assertion raises critical questions surrounding the health evaluations of senior political leaders.

Kuhlman made these comments while speaking to a prominent news outlet, where he emphasized the necessity of cognitive assessments, especially for politicians of advanced age. He pointed out that Biden’s physician, Kevin O’Connor, who had been appointed as Biden’s doctor back in 2009, did not include neurocognitive evaluations in his assessments during Biden’s presidency.

In a report from 2024, O’Connor stated that the then-81-year-old Biden “continues to be fit for duty.” Yet, Kuhlman remarked, “Sometimes those closest to the tree miss the forest,” suggesting a potential oversight in O’Connor’s evaluation approach.

The Importance of Comprehensive Health Evaluations

Kuhlman expanded on the topic of fitness, stating that it encompasses more than mere physical health.
