FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino provided an update on the agency’s operations, emphasizing a commitment to removing dangerous criminals while safeguarding children. The update, shared on social media, addressed the FBI’s intensified focus on high-priority cases amidst ongoing concerns about crime related to illegal immigration.
In a recent post, Bongino outlined the bureau’s strategy, which targets illegal aliens involved in criminal activities. He clearly stated that the operations to remove these criminals are ramping up significantly.
“The workforce has been working overtime on task force operations to remove dangerous illegal aliens from the country. The work continues,” he stated. Bongino asserted that anyone who entered the country illegally with the intent to harm American citizens should expect consequences.
Bongino revealed that these removal operations are just the beginning. They aim to affect the crime landscape dramatically by integrating these efforts with the administration’s strict border policies. As he noted, the combination of enhanced enforcement and border security should serve as a formidable deterrent against criminal activity.
“These removal and incarceration operations will dramatically change the crime landscape in the country when combined with the administration’s laser-focus on sealing the border shut,” he added, signaling a robust approach towards illegal immigration and crime prevention.
In addition to addressing illegal immigration, Bongino emphasized the urgent need to protect children from predators. He mentioned an initiative named Operation ‘Restoring Justice’, which has already led to locking up numerous child predators nationwide. This program reflects the bureau’s commitment to preventing crimes against children.
“Crimes against children are a priority for the workforce. Operation ‘Restoring Justice,’ where we locked up child predators and 764 subjects, in every part of the country, is just the beginning,” he explained. His message was clear: offenders should reconsider their actions, knowing that the FBI is vigilant and ready to act.
Bongino also addressed perceptions formed by certain media portrayals of the FBI’s efforts. He emphasized that understanding the agency’s actions is essential, especially as they pertain to high-profile cases under scrutiny from the public and Congress. These include critical incidents such as the shooting of Representative Steve Scalise, recent school shootings, and the investigations into the origins of COVID-19.
“There are voluminous amounts of downloaded child sexual abuse material that we are dealing with,” Bongino noted. His acknowledgement of the sensitive nature of these cases illustrates the complexity and challenges faced by the FBI as they seek to navigate public discourse while respecting legal protocols.
In light of criticism directed at FBI Director Patel, Bongino felt compelled to defend his colleague. He highlighted Patel’s extensive commitment, stating, “He spends anywhere between 10 to 12 hours in the office attending meetings with everyone from foreign heads of law enforcement to our counter-terror teams.” He categorically dismissed any assertions to the contrary as misleading, framing them as attempts to undermine the FBI’s ongoing reforms.
“You are being clearly lied to by people with an agenda, and it’s not your agenda,” he remarked, revealing his frustration with the media narratives that do not align with reality.
As Bongino concluded his update, he expressed gratitude to the public for their continued interest and engagement with the FBI’s efforts. With a strong appeal for vigilance, he urged Americans to keep a watchful eye on the agency’s activities and commitments.
“God bless America, and all those who defend Her,” he stated, reinforcing a sense of unity and purpose between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
Dan Bongino’s career in law enforcement began with the New York Police Department in 1995. Subsequently, he joined the United States Secret Service in 1999, where he notably protected Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Following his departure from government service, Bongino sought public office as a Republican in both Maryland and Florida.
Moreover, he hosted a popular Saturday night show on the Fox News Channel from 2021 to 2023 and authored several books, including his memoir titled Life Inside the Bubble.
As the FBI continues its vital work, both the agency and its leaders remain committed to the principles of transparency and public trust, navigating the complexities of a rapidly changing crime landscape.
The FBI did not respond immediately to inquiries for further comments regarding Bongino’s statements.
