Dan Bongino, the FBI Deputy Director, revealed significant strides made by the agency in combating child exploitation and other criminal activities during their first three months in office. This announcement came on Saturday and focused on the agency’s dedicated efforts to apprehend child predators and rescue vulnerable children.
In a post on X, Bongino detailed that two specific child predator operations led to the apprehension of hundreds of suspects and the rescue of numerous minors.
Diving into the specifics, Operation “Restoring Justice” played a crucial role in this initiative. This operation resulted in the arrest of 205 child sex offenders and identified 764 individuals involved in the trafficking network, successfully rescuing 115 children in the process.
Another pivotal endeavor known as Operation “Soteria Shield” saw the apprehension of 244 child predators, alongside the rescue of 109 children.
Bongino emphasized the urgency of these efforts, stating in his post that this marked just the beginning of a relentless pursuit against those who exploit children.
“If you are preying on children, we are coming for you,” he fervently warned.
In addition to addressing child exploitation, Bongino mentioned that the FBI has made significant progress on several high-profile cases. These include investigations into the COVID-19 cover-up, the Dobbs leak, and the DNC pipe bomb case.
Moreover, the agency managed to locate and apprehend three individuals from its list of the top ten most wanted fugitives, signifying a focused approach to law enforcement priorities.
Alongside these achievements, Bongino also disclosed that arrests related to multiple foreign intelligence targets were made. These targets had been engaged in illegal activities that posed threats to national security.
Amid this operational success, Bongino outlined various personnel changes within the leadership structure of the FBI. This reorganization aims to ensure past mistakes are not repeated, implementing effective measures to avoid any previous pitfalls of oversight.
He reiterated the FBI’s ongoing commitment to public safety and the protection of children, expressing appreciation for the trust placed in the agency.
Bongino emphasized the FBI’s determination to be vigilant in safeguarding the homeland amid the current global climate. He highlighted ongoing investigations related to various crimes, including rioting, murders, and bombings.
In cooperation with other federal partners, the FBI has also apprehended, imprisoned, and deported thousands of undocumented immigrants involved in criminal activities.
More than 700 arrests connected to anti-ICE riots were made in collaboration with state and federal agents. The agency’s relentless pursuit of justice continues as they sift through data to identify and apprehend additional suspects.
Bongino affirmed that the agency’s efforts are far from over. He stated, “We are in the process of identifying and targeting those who attacked law enforcement officers and vandalized property. I assure you, we will not forget or slow down our pursuit of justice.”
This assertive approach towards law enforcement sends a clear message to criminals involved in violence and chaos that the FBI remains fully engaged in thwarting illegal activities.
While acknowledging the ongoing challenges, Bongino urged the public to remain patient as the FBI continues working diligently on disclosures regarding corruption and other critical investigations. Enhancing transparency and restoring public trust remains a priority for the agency.
Concluding his message, he expressed gratitude towards those who have remained patient with the FBI’s efforts. “For those who are out of patience, thank you, too. We understand your frustrations, and we are working tirelessly to address them,” he noted.
As the FBI continues its mission to protect children and uphold the law, Bongino’s call for vigilance resonates with both law enforcement and communities across the nation. He concluded with a heartfelt message: “God bless America, and everyone who defends her.”
