A federal judge has issued a temporary injunction against the Trump administration’s plans to put 2,200 employees of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) on administrative leave. This significant ruling came from U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols on Friday.
Judge Nichols, who was appointed by Trump, also blocked a directive that would have mandated an expedited 30-day timeline for thousands of overseas USAID workers to return to the United States. This timeline included moving their families back at the government’s expense.
