Edward Coristine, a former employee of DOGE, recently recounted a traumatic experience during an appearance on the program ‘Jesse Watters Primetime.’ The young man was attacked by a group of teenagers in Washington D.C.’s Logan Circle neighborhood this past summer, leaving him injured and shaken.

A Night That Escalated Quickly

The assault occurred around 3 a.m. on August 3 when Coristine was out with friends. A 15-year-old from Hyattsville, Maryland, has since pleaded guilty to several charges, including felony assault and robbery, linked to the incident.

Reflecting on the night of the attack, Coristine explained that he was in the process of escorting a female friend to her car when they encountered trouble. As he described it, a group of ten young men loomed across the street, shouting at them. It didn’t take long for him to sense that something was amiss.

Fear and Panic

“I was walking one of my friends back to her car, and as we were moving, there was this group of ten guys right across the street,” Coristine said. “They start shouting at us. And really quickly, I knew something was really off about the situation.”

In a moment of quick thinking, Coristine ushered his friend into the car and ensured she locked the doors. However, the group of teenagers was relentless. “They slammed me against the car,” he recalled. “They started throwing a bunch of punches. I kept my hands up. Luckily, the whole thing didn’t last long.”

Police Response and Aftermath

The swift arrival of the police was a stroke of luck for Coristine. He suffered a broken nose and a concussion but recognized that the outcome could have been much worse. “The police showed up pretty quickly, so I was very fortunate,” he noted.

When discussing his motivations for moving to Washington D.C. and working for DOGE, Coristine expressed a deep sense of duty. “I felt a great responsibility to serve my country,” he stated. His family’s history influenced this feeling; his grandfather had been a KGB double agent working with the Americans. Coristine shared, “He died so that I could come here and live in this free country that I love so much.”

Coristine also spoke candidly about the pressing issues he perceives in the country today. “When I started seeing these problems like the $37 trillion national debt and counting, I was like, wow, this is insane. Is there any way that I can help solve this?” His passion to contribute to change spurred him to take action when the opportunity arose.
