In a heartwarming ceremony held on Tuesday, FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott and President & Executive Editor Jay Wallace honored the winners of the 2024 FOX News Media Spotlight Awards during an intimate luncheon. This event brought together a community of dedicated professionals who have made significant contributions to the organization.

The FOX News Media Spotlight Awards celebrate exceptional achievements within the company. Management reviewed hundreds of nominations submitted by enthusiastic staff members looking to recognize their colleagues who have gone the extra mile. Winners were initially announced at a network-wide town hall, and the ceremony took place at the upscale Avra restaurant in midtown Manhattan, just a short walk from the FOX News Media headquarters.

Recognition of Excellence and Team Spirit

Prominent FOX News anchor Bill Hemmer served as the event’s host, expertly welcoming guests before inviting Scott to address the audience.

Scott emphasized the importance of acknowledging success within the organization. She stated, “I have always said it’s vital to celebrate success and achievement at FOX News Media. If we’re not celebrating our achievements, who will? We have had a fantastic year with commendable accomplishments across our businesses, platforms, and ratings, which is truly remarkable.”

She further noted, “However, it is crucial to honor our team members—the individuals who achieve great things every day. Now more than ever, supporting each other and celebrating our collective accomplishments fosters a positive culture.”

A Tradition of Recognition

The Spotlight Awards initiative commenced in 2020, and since then, over 80 awards have been distributed, recognizing staff members across diverse teams. This year, FOX News Media executives received an impressive 342 nominations, celebrating the contributions of 185 different employees and departments showcasing excellence across multiple platforms.

“We are all incredibly proud of the winners. Their recognition by fellow colleagues highlights the value of our collaborative spirit,” Scott expressed passionately.

A Star-Studded Announcement

Wallace took the stage to unveil the award recipients, joined by well-known FOX News hosts including Martha MacCallum, Ainsley Earhardt, Dana Perino, and Harold Ford Jr.

Unsung Hero Award: A Tribute to Behind-the-Scenes Stars

The Unsung Hero Award aims to highlight employees who consistently go above and beyond in their vital roles, often without the recognition they deserve. This award acknowledges the dedication of those who keep operations seamless.

Latoya Lewis, Director of Technical Operations

“Latoya is the cornerstone of our control rooms, particularly during breaking news events. Managing departmental schedules is no easy feat, but she performs admirably. Since receiving the award, her contributions have included work on the new ‘Will Cain Show’ and significant projects such as the Presidential Inauguration and key Congressional sessions,” Wallace noted with pride.

Alex Mitchner, Director of Technical Operations

Wallace praised Alex for her unwavering commitment to mentoring junior staff and fostering their professional growth. “She played a crucial role in automating processes for FBN, showcasing her impactful leadership and forward-thinking attitude that inspires her entire team.”

Jason Oster, Broadcast Engineering Supervisor

Wallace recognized Jason for his long-standing expertise in solving complex technical issues. “Jason’s ability to identify and resolve problems swiftly is vital to our engineering team. Since he joined in 1999, he has become the go-to person for immediate solutions.”

The Rising Star Award: Spotlight on Early Career Achievements

This award seeks to honor employees demonstrating exceptional work ethic and growth during their early professional journeys.

Frank Andriola, Broadcast Production Engineer

Frank, with 11 nominations, exemplifies the respect he commands among peers. “His dedication to learning and teaching others is commendable, and he has implemented innovative workflows that enhance our operational efficiency,” Earhardt stated.

Giuliana Fogliano

“Giuliana initially received the award while working on ‘America’s Newsroom’ and has since transitioned back to New York to become an integral part of President Jay Wallace’s team,” Earhardt shared.

Meghan Tome, Associate Producer

Meghan is celebrated for her promotion from associate producer to White House producer, reflecting her hard work and commitment. Earhardt highlighted her dedication, stating, “Meghan arrives early and stays late, always prepared to help her team, even on days off.”

Community Involvement: Acknowledging Local Heroes

This category recognizes dedicated employees actively enhancing their local communities through volunteer efforts.

Richard Hernandez, Senior Manager of Engineering

Richard’s community service includes organizing an annual toy and clothing drive for children in orphanages in Mexico. He is now focused on his local efforts in Whittier, California, directing the Whittier Food Pantry, which serves significant quantities of families each month.
