In a remarkable display of viewership, FOX News Media announced that it concluded the third quarter of 2025 as the top news brand on YouTube, amassing over one billion video views.
This milestone positioned FOX News significantly ahead of its closest rival, MSNBC, by over 200 million views, while also outpacing the combined totals of NBC News, ABC News, and CBS News.
During this peak news quarter, FOX News demonstrated an impressive growth rate of 45% compared to the previous year. The latest figures reveal that FOX amassed 1.1 billion video views, significantly surpassing MSNBC’s 848 million, CNN’s 627 million, NBC News’s 424 million, ABC News’s 359 million, and CBS’s 163 million, according to data from Emplifi.
This achievement represents the fourth consecutive quarter in which FOX News has outperformed all news brands on YouTube, establishing a pattern of dominance in online news views.
In September alone, FOX News finished strongly with 408 million video views. In comparison, MSNBC garnered only 254 million views, while CNN achieved 232 million. NBC News had 135 million views, ABC News recorded 128 million, and CBS News ended with a mere 70 million views that month.
FOX News has effectively harnessed the power of YouTube to enhance its viewer engagement. In 2025, the network placed significant emphasis on its presence on the platform, contributing to these impressive viewership statistics.
The FOX News Clips platform launched in May and offers the latest news reporting and analysis. This initiative has seen steady growth, while the main FOX News account now boasts over 14.5 million subscribers. Additionally, FOX Business recorded 166 million views on YouTube during the same quarter.
Beyond YouTube, FOX News achieved its best quarter ever on social media, generating over 500 million interactions across platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and X, as reported by Emplifi.
Breaking down the interactions, FOX News drove 283 million interactions on Facebook, 98 million on Instagram, 19.4 million on X, and 105.4 million on TikTok.
In addition to its online success, FOX News also maintained a commanding lead in linear television. The channel outperformed its broadcast competition during the third quarter, achieving the highest number of weekday primetime viewers across all television networks for the entire year.
Through September, FOX averaged 3.3 million weekday primetime viewers, surpassing CBS and ABC, which both averaged 3.1 million viewers. NBC trailed with 3 million viewers. Notably, FOX also exceeded ESPN’s 2.1 million average audience, while MSNBC captured 1.2 million viewers and CNN dropped to 641,000.
Throughout the third quarter, FOX News achieved an average of 1.6 million total day viewers, significantly ahead of MSNBC’s 492,000 and CNN’s 396,000. In primetime, FOX News dazzled with 2.5 million total viewers, vastly outpacing MSNBC, which managed only 802,000, and CNN at 538,000.
This remarkable quarter marks the 95th consecutive quarter of dominance for FOX News in cable news, solidifying its status as the leader among primetime viewers.
As FOX News navigates through the increasing competition in digital and traditional television markets, its strategic focus on engaging content and innovative platforms positions it well for future growth. The continued emphasis on enhancing viewer experiences and expanding social media interactions indicates that FOX News aims to retain its formidable lead in the ever-evolving media landscape.
