Giants Secure Star Safety Jevon Holland in Free Agency Overhaul of Secondary

The New York Giants are making significant moves to fortify their defense as the 2024 NFL season approaches.

On Tuesday, reports emerged that the Giants inked a three-year deal with Jevon Holland, a standout safety previously with the Miami Dolphins. This contract is valued at $45.3 million, featuring $30.3 million guaranteed, according to sources from the NFL Network.

A Talented Safety Joins the Ranks

Holland, 25, has showcased his skills in his four-year career with the Dolphins, where he was drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft following an impressive collegiate career at the University of Oregon. Over his 60 career regular-season games, he accumulated five interceptions, five sacks, and 301 total tackles.

Giants Move Following McKinney Departure

The Giants entered this offseason with a pressing need in the safety position after parting ways with their star safety, Xavier McKinney, who left for the Green Bay Packers last season. Holland is set to start alongside Tyler Nubin, the Giants’ second-round pick from the 2024 NFL Draft.

Throughout his time with the Saints, Adebo totaled 251 tackles, 43 passes defended, 10 interceptions, and multiple forced fumbles. However, he faced challenges last season, only appearing in seven games due to a severe injury—breaking his femur during a matchup against the Denver Broncos.
