Over the past several weeks, Trump has ordered at least ten military strikes against suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. He insists that these actions are crucial for sending a clear message to drug traffickers and cartels. However, there is growing bipartisan concern from Congress regarding the need for heightened oversight and substantial evidence to ensure the legality of these military operations.
Graham revealed during an interview with CBS News that Trump intends to share details about future military actions with Congress upon his return from an Asia trip wrapping up on Thursday. He emphasized, “President Trump told me yesterday that he plans to brief members of Congress when he gets back from Asia about future potential military operations against Venezuela and Colombia. There will be a congressional briefing regarding an escalation from maritime to land-based initiatives. I support this plan wholeheartedly. However, I believe the president already has all the authority he needs.”
