The legendary Grateful Dead continues to captivate audiences even after six decades, now with a refreshing year-round beer. Dogfish Head Brewery has unveiled its latest creation, the Grateful Dead Juicy Pale Ale, marking a significant milestone for both the brewery and the iconic band.
Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Dogfish Head and the 60th anniversary of the Grateful Dead, this Juicy Pale Ale is now available nationwide. Sam Calagione, the founder of Dogfish Head, confirmed that fans can find this new brew in six packs of 12-ounce cans at major grocery stores across the country.

Calagione emphasized that this new beer employs a completely fresh recipe featuring an alcohol by volume content of 5.3%. Unlike many traditional pale ales, this innovative blend prioritizes a juicier profile over bitterness.
According to Calagione, the ingredient list includes unexpected elements such as honey and oat granola, which contribute to its unique taste. He asserted, “We designed this recipe to be hoppy like a traditional craft pale ale but also to be juicy and approachable.”
Calagione has a personal fondness for the Grateful Dead. He reflects on discovering the band’s music at a young age, recounting an experience when he spotted the cover of
