A United States Coast Guard rescue swimmer from New Jersey has emerged as a local hero, saving almost 200 lives during the devastating flash floods that struck Central Texas.
Petty Officer 3rd Class Scott Ruskan, at just 26 years old, has received high praise for rescuing 165 individuals while serving as the only triage coordinator on-site. His commendable actions caught the attention of U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who acknowledged his extraordinary efforts.
