Hilaria Baldwin has candidly shared her experiences with plastic surgery after years of motherhood. The former yoga instructor revealed that her decision for breast augmentation came after a decade of pregnancy and breastfeeding.
At 41 years old, Hilaria Baldwin has spent much of the last ten years nurturing her family alongside husband Alec Baldwin. During an episode of their TLC reality show, The Baldwins, she discussed her choice to undergo cosmetic surgery.
“Since I was breastfeeding for so long, it was one of these things I decided to do, like, a little up,” Hilaria explained. Her comments come as she reflects on her physical changes after giving birth to seven children.
Hilaria expressed that she has been either pregnant or breastfeeding continuously for over a decade. She mentioned in a conversation with a friend that this period marks the first time in years that she is not in that stage of motherhood.
“I think this is the first time that I’ve not been pregnant and/or breastfeeding since I’ve started having kids,” she stated, highlighting the significant shift in her life.
The couple has welcomed an array of children: Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 4, MarÃa LucÃa, 4, and Ilaria, 2. Their youngest child MarÃa LucÃa was born via surrogacy, which Hilaria opted for after experiencing a miscarriage following in vitro fertilization.
Hilaria highlights her commitment to breastfeeding, having chosen to nurse all her children. This dedication to motherhood has shaped her perspective on self-image and body changes.
In reflecting on her journey, Hilaria remarked, “I got used to my body more or less a certain way then, as most women know who breastfeed, when the milk goes out — it’s a different, much lower reality.” This poignant observation resonates with many women who face similar transitions.
She further elaborated on her decision: “For me, my decision, my journey was I breastfed. I felt, you know, comfortable in the way I looked before. I didn’t look that way once the milk dried up, and I made a choice. So it’s just to make myself feel okay, and that’s okay.” Her words reflect a personal approach to body positivity and self-acceptance.
While discussing her cosmetic surgery, Hilaria acknowledged the pressures that come with societal standards of beauty. She expressed concerns about her eldest daughter, Carmen, whom she wants to protect from the pressures of vanity.
“Anytime I do something that is in the realm of vanity, I don’t want them to feel that they have to be a certain way,” she mentioned. Hilaria aims to shield Carmen from the challenges of self-doubt that can arise from media scrutiny and public opinion.
In addition to raising seven children, Hilaria and Alec Baldwin maintain a public presence through their reality series. The show premiered in February, offering viewers a glimpse into their family life while navigating the complexities of parenthood.
Alec Baldwin, well-known for his roles in iconic television series like 30 Rock, is also a father to Ireland Baldwin, his daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger. In 2023, Ireland welcomed her own daughter, making Alec a grandfather.
The Baldwins provides a platform for the family to share both heartfelt moments and challenges. As a couple, Hilaria and Alec have committed to showing the raw and unfiltered aspects of family life.
Hilaria Baldwin’s journey through motherhood and her openness about cosmetic surgery presents important discussions about body image, self-care, and the pressures of society. Her perspective offers both inspiration and reassurance to many women navigating similar paths.
The journey of motherhood is multifaceted, and Hilaria’s reflections serve as a reminder of the importance of embracing one’s evolving identity throughout this transformative experience.
