The U.S. Postal Service has introduced a new postage stamp featuring William F. Buckley, Jr., a defining figure in American conservatism and the founder of the influential editorial magazine National Review. This stamp commemorates Buckley’s extensive contributions to conservative thought and public discourse.
Founded in 1955, National Review served as a critical platform for conservative commentary, focusing on politics, current events, and cultural analysis. Today, the magazine continues to publish twelve issues annually alongside a daily online presence, actively engaging with contemporary issues from a conservative viewpoint.
The stamp showcases a striking graphite and charcoal portrait of Buckley, created by artist Dale Stephanos, as reported by the U.S. Postal Service. This artistic rendering captures the essence of Buckley’s impact on the intellectual landscape of the United States.

Historian George Nash famously remarked that Buckley was arguably the most significant public intellectual in the United States during the last half century.
