Honoring Knicks Legend Dick Barnett, Who Passed Away at 88
Dick Barnett, a renowned Basketball Hall of Famer and celebrated All-Star, has passed away at the age of 88. The New York Knicks, the team Barnett famously represented, announced his death on Sunday.
Barnett hailed from Gary, Indiana, and was selected as the fifth overall pick in the 1959 NBA Draft after his standout college career at Tennessee A&I, now known as Tennessee State University. He began his professional journey with the Syracuse Nationals, spent three seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, and distinguished himself during his nine-year tenure with the Knicks from 1965 to 1974.
