FIRST ON FOX: House Republicans have intensified their scrutiny of a district court judge overseeing a significant case linked to the Trump administration. On Tuesday, Representatives Jim Jordan from Ohio and Darrell Issa from California formally raised concerns about Judge John McConnell, alleging a potential financial conflict of interest.
The lawmakers, who hold influential positions on the House Judiciary Committee, addressed a letter to the First Circuit Court of Appeals’ judicial council, requesting a thorough investigation into Judge McConnell’s actions, as reported by Fox News Digital.
Judge McConnell, appointed during the Obama administration, is currently presiding over a critical funding freeze case originating in Rhode Island. The lawsuit brought by these states argues that the funding freeze is illegal, as Congress had already appropriated the funds for their intended purposes.
