Idaho Judge Rejects Defense Motion to Exclude Critical Evidence in Kohberger Case

A judge in Idaho has rejected motions from the defense team of college murder suspect Bryan Kohberger aimed at suppressing crucial evidence obtained through search warrants. This ruling has dealt a significant, yet anticipated setback to the defense.

Kohberger’s attorneys focused on two DNA samples that belong to unidentified males, which were found at the residence on King Road where Kohberger is accused of murdering four University of Idaho students. During a hearing last month, defense attorney Anne Taylor argued before Ada County Judge Steven Hippler that these unidentified DNA samples could indicate Kohberger, 30, might not be connected to the crime at all.
