A transgender high school student in Indiana faces serious charges related to a planned mass shooting. The incident was set for Valentine’s Day, which marks the anniversary of the infamous Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida.
Trinity J. Shockley, an 18-year-old student, remains in custody at the Morgan County Jail in Martinsville, Indiana, without bond. On Thursday, Shockley was charged in Morgan Superior Court 1 with conspiracy to commit murder, a felony, alongside two lower-level felony counts of intimidation related to threats of terrorism. These details emerged from court documents obtained by Fox News Digital.
Shockley identifies as a transgender man and also goes by the names Jamie or Dex. The planned attack on Mooresville High School was reportedly foiled when the FBI Indianapolis office received a tip that led them to collaborate with the Mooresville Metropolitan Police Department (MMPD) for a thorough investigation.
The FBI indicated that they quickly mobilized with local law enforcement to assess the validity of the tip. According to the statement, the tipster alerted authorities that Shockley had acquired an AR-15 rifle and had ordered a bulletproof vest. Alarmingly, the tip suggested that Shockley was fixated on Nikolas Cruz, the perpetrator of the 2018 Parkland shooting.
