During his speech, Trump recalled the dire prognosis from doctors who predicted DJ would have limited time left to live, noting, “That was more than six years ago.” Such longevity speaks volumes about DJ’s fight and the strength he embodies.

According to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), childhood ependymoma starts in the brain or spinal cord and can severely affect the central nervous system, impacting vital functions such as breathing, heart rate, memory, and emotions. Each year, about 200 to 250 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with this challenging condition.

DJ has faced significant hurdles, as his cancer has metastasized and relapsed multiple times, resulting in 13 brain surgeries. So, what you see is what you get until we have another surgery,” he mentioned.

In an extraordinary display of recognition, DJ has been awarded honorary badges from 908 agencies nationwide, far exceeding his initial goal of securing 100 badges. “Well, once I reach 1,000, I’m just going to keep on going until my gas tank runs out. That’s when God calls you home,” DJ said, showcasing his optimistic outlook.
