International Team Uncovers Promising Evidence of Possible Noah’s Ark Remains in Turkey

A coalition of international researchers has made strides in identifying potential remains of Noah’s Ark, with recent tests yielding hopeful results. Their focus lies on the Durupinar site located in eastern Turkey, a location that has captivated archaeologists since its discovery in the 1950s.

For over sixty years, the boat-shaped site has sparked speculation about its association with the biblical narrative of Noah’s Ark. Despite decades of inquiry, concrete evidence has eluded experts until now. The organization Noah’s Ark Scans reports that new soil samples suggest the presence of ancient wood at the site.

Last September, researchers collected soil samples from Durupinar, and subsequent analyses throughout the winter revealed significant findings. The results indicated that the site contains markedly higher levels of organic matter and potassium compared to the surrounding regions, according to a statement from Noah’s Ark Scans.

“These results provide compelling evidence of a unique, potentially man-made structure beneath the surface that stands distinct from the surrounding mudflow,” the organization indicated.

Moreover, the findings imply the presence of decayed wood or organic materials that may align with a large, ancient structure preserved within the mudflow. Andrew Jones, the principal archaeological researcher, noted that the samples indicate a staggering 2.72 times more carbon within the boat-shaped area than in immediately adjacent locations.

Jones explained that the deteriorating ancient wood likely contributes to creating a localized soil microenvironment, characterized by decreased pH levels, increased organic matter, and elevated potassium levels.

Similarly, the process of wood decomposition plays a critical role in enhancing soil composition. As wood rots, it transforms into humus, a stable form of organic matter that is rich in carbon. This contributes to a higher organic matter content in the soil surrounding the site.

William Crabtree, a soil scientist involved in the study, remarked that the composition of the soil at Durupinar is unusually distinct. He stated, “The soil composition is markedly different from the natural mudflow, indicating something extraordinary at this site.”

The formation at Durupinar measures 515 feet long, precisely aligning with the biblical dimensions attributed to Noah’s Ark, according to Noah’s Ark Scans. Unlike the surrounding volcanic mudflow, the unique soil and subsurface characteristics at this site innovate the possibility of historical significance.

The research builds upon previous ground-penetrating radar scans conducted in 2019, which uncovered subsurface features and unusual anomalies. These advanced scans revealed a central corridor measuring 234 feet and angular structures that may represent rooms or corridors extending up to 20 feet deep. The discovery of right-angled formations, which are uncommon in natural geological processes, suggests possible intentional design.

Jones asserted that the identification of hallways and room-like structures supports the notion of a constructed origin for this boat shape. He stated, “The re-analysis confirms what we suspected: These are not random shapes in the mudflow.”

Although no excavations are planned for this year, Jones confirmed that research will progress through additional geophysical surveys and possibly core drilling next year. He expressed that the focus will remain on employing non-destructive techniques to better understand the sub-surface conditions at Durupinar.

Looking ahead, the team plans to conduct more extensive soil testing and gather deeper samples, aiming to unveil further insights into this remarkable discovery. Jones stated, “Our plan is to perform a much larger soil test and take deeper samples from the ground.”
