Federal authorities made contact with a condominium in Florida owned by Mary Grace Westman as part of their investigation into the shooter’s family dynamics. The authorities had visited the site the day before the tragic event for an unrelated welfare check involving a juvenile.

During their visit, deputies spoke with Mrs. Westman, who confirmed that the juvenile and the juvenile’s mother no longer resided with her. Officials later clarified that this incident was unrelated to the shooter or the family.
