Despite the ceasefire, Israel has maintained a consistent pattern of military strikes in southern Lebanon nearly every day since that period. The recent attack specifically targeted a Hezbollah drone storage facility in Dahiyeh, a region known as a stronghold for the militant group. Macron indicated that the U.S. has the ability to exert pressure on Israel regarding its military actions. Simultaneously, a spokesperson from the U.S. State Department reiterated calls for the Lebanese government to take action against militant groups within its borders.

According to the spokesperson, “Israel is defending its people and interests by responding to rocket attacks from terrorists in Lebanon.” They urged the Lebanese Armed Forces to disarm these groups to prevent further hostilities from occurring.

Escalating Humanitarian Crisis

The United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, warned that the current escalation poses a critical threat not only to Lebanon but also to the broader region.
