Israel’s recent precision strike targeting Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure may have created a significant strategic opening for the U.S. government. Experts suggest that this development provides the Trump administration with an invaluable chance to pressure Tehran into negotiations regarding its nuclear ambitions, something that traditional diplomatic efforts struggled to accomplish.
The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed that the operation was executed by Israeli military personnel, with significant coordination from American forces. Although U.S. troops did not partake in the offensive actions, defense cooperation remained robust throughout the operation and during Iran’s subsequent attempts to retaliate. U.S. forces played a critical role in intercepting Iranian missile attacks aimed at Tel Aviv.
An Israeli military official stated that while this was primarily an Israeli operation, it involved close coordination with American intelligence, highlighting the seamless collaboration between the two nations. “There was real-time intelligence and continuous contact,” the official noted.
Avner Golov, vice president of Mind Israel, emphasized that Israel’s actions should not drag the U.S. into a conflict. Trump’s approach, Greenway noted, reflects a sincere preference for a diplomatic resolution, despite the complexities involved in negotiating with Iran. “He knows the prospects may be remote, but it is worth the effort,” he commented.
Nadav Eyal, an Israeli analyst and journalist for Yediot Ahronot, characterized the strike as part of a calculated
