J.K. Rowling, the renowned author of the “Harry Potter” series, recently took to social media to express her views following President Donald Trump’s signing of the “No Men in Women’s Sports” executive order. This occurred on National Girls and Women in Sports Day, an event dedicated to celebrating female athletes and promoting equal opportunities in sports for women.
In her post on X, Rowling included an image of Trump surrounded by applauding female athletes as he proudly displayed the signed executive order. She aimed her message at individuals on the left who have opposed measures to restrict biological males from competing against female athletes.
“Congratulations to every single person on the left who’s been campaigning to destroy women’s and girls’ rights. Without you, there’d be no images like this,” Rowling stated.
Rowling elaborated on her stance in a subsequent post on X, condemning the argument that concerns over transgender issues pertain to only a small segment of the population. She called this notion “utterly ridiculous,” voicing her concerns about how gender ideology negatively impacts freedom of speech, scientific truth, and the rights of women and children.
“Gender ideology has undermined freedom of speech, scientific truth, gay rights, and women’s and girls’ safety, privacy, and dignity,” said Rowling. “It’s also caused irreparable physical damage to vulnerable kids. Nobody voted for it; the vast majority of people disagree with it, yet it has been imposed, top down, by politicians, healthcare bodies, academia, sections of the media, celebrities, and even the police.”
In her post, Rowling suggested that the ideologies driving this movement have caused significant societal damage. She urged followers to reconsider their support for activist narratives that she believes do not reflect the concerns of the broader populace.
“This movement has impacted society in disastrous ways,” she stated.
