Jane Seymour Emphasizes Family Values in Bond with Former Co-Star Joe Lando

Jane Seymour finds it effortlessly rewarding to remain close to her on-screen partner nearly three decades after their iconic television series concluded. The actress, known for her roles in various meaningful projects, expressed her fondness for Joe Lando during a conversation with Fox News Digital.

She stated, “The same way I say I love my ‘Harry Wild’ sidekick Rohan Nedd, I love Joe Lando. We understand each other deeply. Our personalities differ significantly; marriage would be out of the question. However, I admire his wonderful wife, who is also a dear friend of mine. Their entire family holds a special place in my heart.”

At 74, Seymour conveyed her enthusiasm about future collaborations with Lando, who is 63. “I’m always looking for opportunities to work together, and he is too. There’s a unique chemistry when we collaborate. Our understanding of one another is profound, allowing us to create a comfort zone while acting. Together, we share a dynamic that feels exceptional,” she reflected.

A Deeply Bonded Friendship

Seymour and Lando played a memorable couple on the beloved show “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman,” which aired from 1993 to 1998. More recently, they appeared together in the 2022 holiday film “A Christmas Spark.” Their professional connection intertwines seamlessly with their personal lives, demonstrating the power of enduring friendships.

Currently, Seymour keeps busy with her detective series “Harry Wild,” which has been renewed for a fifth season. She also hosts “Relative Secrets,” a show dedicated to helping everyday people uncover surprising truths about their family histories.

Their long-standing friendship flourished, particularly when tragedy struck Lando’s family. The Palisades Fire in California devastated them, leaving them with nothing but the clothes they wore. In the aftermath, Lando and his family took refuge in Seymour’s home.

“When everything went up in flames, they lost everything. Six family members and two dogs landed at my door. For five weeks, we shared my home. Our bond intensified during that time,” she described with sincerity.

Lando, embodying his character Sully from “Dr. Quinn,” felt compelled to show appreciation for Seymour’s kindness. “He couldn’t just accept shelter without contributing in some way,” Seymour recounted with amusement. “He started inspecting my home, pointing out repairs, and discussing improvements. During my absence, he even weatherproofed my house completely.”

She continued, “His concern was genuine. He insisted I needed to protect my possessions, admitting he felt like Sully, trying to take care of things for me. It was both humorous and heartwarming.”

Fitness and Life Philosophy

Between acting and their shared history, fans often catch glimpses of Seymour engaging in her fitness routines via social media. When asked about the idea of collaborating on a fitness project with Lando, she responded, “We might!”

In her opinion, embarking on a fitness journey does not require drastic changes. “The biggest mistake people make is thinking they must lose a considerable amount of weight at once. Start with simple hikes around the block, gradually increasing your distance. Keep it enjoyable; bring music or an audiobook along during your walks. Movement matters,” she advised.

“Your body is your vehicle in this life. It needs to function well. Ensure your heart, lungs, and legs are in working order. Respect your body and its limits; it is crucial,” she added, emphasizing the importance of staying active.

While not working or collaborating with Lando, Seymour finds joy in gardening and painting with her grandchildren, describing these activities as fulfilling. She also cherishes her time on the golf course, calling it a meditative experience.

Redefining Success and Reinventing Life

Seymour believes her work in “Harry Wild” resonates with audiences globally. “Much like ‘Dr. Quinn,’ this new series has reached viewers everywhere. People appreciate that I have embraced a natural appearance, opting against excessive cosmetic procedures. My character in ‘Harry Wild’ is an interesting reinvention,” she noted with pride.

She elaborated on her character, portraying a professor who shifts her career towards solving crimes based on her historical knowledge. “At this stage in life, she partners with a sidekick shaped by his turbulent past. It’s a reciprocal relationship where both characters help each other grow,” she explained.

Seymour’s philosophy encourages her audience to approach life with curiosity and openness. “You can always learn something new, and it’s essential to continue reinventing yourself at any age,” she encouraged.

A Life of Gratitude and Connection

For Seymour, each day represents a blessing, filled with appreciation for the friendships she has nurtured. “Life is extraordinarily precious,” she said earnestly. “At the end of the day, you take only two things with you: the love you’ve fostered and the positive impact you’ve made in others’ lives. When you feel good about yourself, maintaining long-lasting relationships becomes attainable. Building a community is significant, regardless of who you are.”
