Star of the iconic series ‘Beverly Hills, 90210,’ Jennie Garth has expressed her eagerness to exit Los Angeles. This admission came during an enlightening interview with Fox News Digital, where Garth shared her thoughts on the recent wildfires and her long-held desire for a change of scenery.
Despite the challenges posed by the Pacific Palisades and Altadena Fires, Garth clarified that these incidents are not the driving force behind her wish to leave the city. She and her husband, Dave Abrams, evacuated Altadena as a precaution during the Eaton Fire, but thankfully, their home remained unscathed.
For added safety during this time, the couple stayed with Garth’s ex-husband, Peter Facinelli, known for his role in ‘Twilight.’ Garth remarked on her feelings about L.A., stating, “I’ve always wanted to move out of L.A. I mean, fires or no fires. I’m ready to move out of L.A. I’ve always been chomping at the bit.” This candid revelation underscores her longstanding urge to explore life beyond the bustling city limits.
Garth is currently focused on various projects from the comfort of her home. She hosts the iHeart podcast, ‘I Choose Me,’ which emphasizes the significance of self-care and self-love among listeners. Additionally, she hosted her podcast’s inaugural live event in Los Angeles, concentrating on themes of female empowerment.
In her discussion with Fox News Digital, Garth expressed how her current responsibilities allow for a flexible lifestyle. She highlighted the ease of conducting meetings and managing her clothing brand remotely, which reinforces her desire to break free from the confines of L.A.
“Right now, it’s about getting my senior daughter graduated, and helping my husband find a rhythm with his new bar,” Garth noted. She mentioned that once her family settles into a routine, they could explore leaving town more frequently.
Although Garth has long enjoyed living in Los Angeles, she shared her complicated feelings about the city. “I really love L.A.,” she said. “I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with L.A. I hate the traffic. I’m not fond of all the people. There are too many people for my preference, but I love it. It’s so beautiful, and it’s just so magical and creative. The beauty is what keeps me here, along with the landscape variations.”
Moreover, Garth identified as a “big nature person.” She expressed her desire to relocate to an environment filled with trees, away from the crowded city. Interestingly, though she ruled out returning to the Midwest, where she grew up, she entertained ideas about living in places like Whitefish, Montana, or Colorado.
Prior to her rise to fame as Kelly Taylor on ‘Beverly Hills, 90210,’ Garth cultivated her roots on a horse farm in rural Illinois. Reflecting on her upbringing, she shared, “I think a lot of people definitely don’t associate me with a Midwestern lifestyle. They think Beverly Hills, which is not me at all.” This stark contrast has shaped her identity beyond her on-screen persona.
Garth candidly discussed her childhood experiences, which starkly contrast her glamorous Hollywood life. “That’s a character I played, and it was a lot of fun, don’t get me wrong. But I grew up on a family farm where we gardened and maintained our land. My parents were educators, and they taught us the value of hard work and versatility. There’s virtually nothing I can’t tackle on my own,” she explained.
Further reminiscing about her formative years, Garth stated, “If the toilet breaks, I’m going to try to fix it before I call the plumber. You know, that kind of thing.” This tenacity reflects the values instilled by her parents, John and Carolyn, who also emphasized the importance of frugality during her upbringing.
As a mother to three children from her previous marriage, Garth’s values resonate strongly in her parenting style. She advocates for practical financial habits, saying, “I don’t believe in spending money when you don’t need to. We all work hard for our money, and I want to provide for my children even when I don’t have to.”
Importantly, her experiences on the farm have left a lasting impact on her approach to life and family, showcasing the importance of grounding in a rapidly changing world. Garth’s journey reflects the exploration of identity, values, and aspirations born from her Midwestern roots.
As Jennie Garth contemplates the next chapter of her life, she embodies the spirit of someone ready for change. From her desire to establish a home that embraces nature to her quest for a simpler life away from the hectic city atmosphere, her story inspires others seeking a balance between ambitions and personal fulfillment. With a focus on family, creativity, and self-discovery, Garth is poised for new adventures while cherishing her cherished values and experiences.
