McCarthy believes that their romance was destined, describing it as ‘written in the stars.’ This sentiment emerged during her reflection on their bond at the recent 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
While on the red carpet, McCarthy revealed an intriguing backstory. A psychic had predicted their future together during her time hosting a talk show on VH1, foreseeing not just a relationship but marriage.
She recounted asking the psychic, ‘Am I going to marry Donnie Wahlberg?’ To her astonishment, the response was a confident, ‘Yes.’
Shortly after, she consulted an astrologer with a similar prophecy about their engagement and marriage timelines, both of which turned out to be accurate. This psychic validation significantly impacted McCarthy’s feelings about their future together.
