Jon Lovitz Confident in Trump’s Support for Israel Amid Growing Tensions with Hamas

Legendary comedian Jon Lovitz has expressed unwavering confidence in President Donald Trump’s commitment to safeguarding Israel during a time of escalating tensions in the region. Lovitz, a prominent Jewish voice in Hollywood, asserted that Trump represents a steadfast ally for Israel.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Lovitz did not hold back as he warned the militant group Hamas about the repercussions of not returning the remaining Israeli hostages promptly. He emphasized, “When he says get those hostages back, you know there’s going to be hell to pay.” Lovitz also pointedly questioned the current administration’s response, asking, “Why didn’t Biden say that?”

Earlier this week, Trump issued a stern ultimatum to Hamas, proclaiming, “If all the Gaza hostages aren’t returned by Saturday at 12 p.m., I would say cancel the ceasefire. Let all hell break out; Israel can override it.” This bold stance underscores the former president’s tough approach toward dealing with terrorism.

Lovitz, whose family experienced the horrors of the Holocaust, took the opportunity to criticize those in the Jewish community who oppose Israel. He noted, “Most Jewish people in America under 50… a lot of them, maybe the majority, are against Israel. And it’s the craziest thing.” He elaborated, saying, “They’re idiots. They have no idea. They weren’t raised by people who came over from Europe fleeing Nazis and fleeing persecution like my grandparents did. They didn’t experience antisemitism growing up, like my grandparents did and my parents did.”

This vocal condemnation of anti-Israel sentiments highlights Lovitz’s frustration with what he perceives as a disconnect in understanding the historical context of Jewish struggles. He remarked, “They’re delusional,” praising Trump’s support for Israel while condemning Jews who label the president as antisemitic.

Lovitz refuted claims of Trump’s antisemitism, stating, “A lot of Jewish people go, ‘I don’t like Trump.’ Why? ‘He’s antisemitic.’ He’s antisemitic? Based on what? He’s done more for Israel than any president in the history of the United States.” His views are echoed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who recently commented on Trump’s exceptional support for Israel’s interests.

In a series of statements, Netanyahu reiterated, “I think President Trump is the greatest friend that Israel has ever had in the White House.” This acknowledgment from a key Israeli leader amplifies Lovitz’s assertions regarding Trump’s commitment.

The comedian has not shied away from discussions surrounding the surge in antisemitism since Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. In an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Lovitz criticized a group of LGBTQ pro-Palestinian activists for blocking a Florida freeway during protests. He stated, “That’s the most insane thing ever because if… those people went to Gaza… Hamas would kill them, literally. They push gay people off of buildings. Israel’s a democracy… I understand it’s bad that… civilians in Palestine are getting killed in a war, but it’s a war that Hamas started, and they wanted a never-ending war. Now they want a cease-fire.”

Lovitz has also been vocal against progressive politicians who push for divesting U.S. funding from Israel in the wake of the Hamas attack. During a previous interview, he criticized figures like Senator Bernie Sanders and members of “The Squad” for their stances on U.S. support for Israel. He labeled their positions as openly antisemitic, stating, “It’s no secret they’re horribly antisemitic.”

As Lovitz continues to speak out, he emphasized the importance of addressing antisemitism in today’s society. He stated, “And I talk about it now because, like, I’ll be god—– if my grandparents had come from Romania and my grandmother from Hungary to America to escape all this crap – and now we’re dealing with it again?” His passionate declaration is a clear indication of his commitment to stand against hate.

The comedian expressed disappointment over the reticence of some members of the Jewish community to speak out against antisemitism. He remarked, “It’s embarrassing to me that more Jewish people that I know that are well known don’t speak out. I don’t know what’s wrong with them. What are they afraid of?”

He characterized antisemitic individuals as bullies, suggesting that confronting them head-on is necessary. Lovitz stated, “You punch a bully in the eye and the nose, they cry and go home. What are they afraid of?” This metaphor highlights his view that addressing such hatred requires bravery and resolve.

Recognizing and commending those who have spoken out against antisemitism, he singled out fellow comedian Michael Rapaport and actress Patricia Heaton for their vocal opposition. Lovitz praised Heaton’s willingness to raise awareness, stating, “she’s speaking out more than most Jews. And she’s not even Jewish.”

Lovitz’s sentiments extended to controversial figures like Kanye West, who has sparked outrage with recent antisemitic remarks. He did not hold back in his condemnation, declaring, “But when someone like Kanye West has 30 million people on Twitter and says, ‘I’m a Nazi and go get the Jews,’ I’m like, f— you. You p—-. That is a piece of s—.” His strong language reflects deep frustration with the pervasive nature of antisemitism, especially from influential figures.

Through his statements and media appearances, Jon Lovitz continues to assert his beliefs with clarity and conviction. His commitment to advocating for Israel and highlighting the dangers of antisemitism is evident in every conversation he engages in. Lovitz’s voice adds a crucial perspective in a rapidly changing political landscape, making him a uniquely influential figure in contemporary discussions surrounding these vital issues.
