Kash Patel Responds to Media Criticism Over Discovery of Classified Documents in Secret FBI Room

FBI Director Kash Patel has boldly defended himself against accusations from left-wing media that label him a liar after uncovering a significant cache of sensitive documents related to the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation. These documents were allegedly concealed in numerous burn bags located within a discreet room inside the FBI headquarters.

Insider sources previously informed Fox News Digital that the burn bag system is designed to dispose of documents marked as classified or of higher designation.

Reports indicate that multiple burn bags were located, each containing thousands of documents. Notably, one classified document retrieved from a burn bag was the annex to former special counsel John Durham’s final report. This document reportedly encapsulates the underlying intelligence that Durham examined during his investigation.

Patel, who took to X to discuss the discovery, reminded followers of his previous assertions made in 2017 and 2018 regarding the Steele Dossier.

In his remarks, Patel stated, “In 2017 and 2018, I established that the Steele Dossier represented fictitious intelligence, manipulated by corrupt FBI officials. Their goal was to mislead a federal judge while unlawfully surveilling Trump’s presidential campaign, all funded by his political rival.” He emphasized that such allegations led media outlets to brand him a liar.

Patel continued, “Now that I serve as FBI Director, we have uncovered burn bags filled with Russia Gate documents, including the long-hidden Durham annex, and have declassified them. I once again revealed the truth through previously established FBI documents. Yet, the same media continues to brand me a liar. Perhaps this FBI will choose to directly release more documents, allowing us to determine who is being truthful, as no one wants to deprive the fake news of another baseless Pulitzer Prize.”

The declassification process of this classified annex is being meticulously coordinated among key figures such as CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Patel, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and acting NSA Director William Hartman.

Patel Discovers Thousands of Sensitive Trump-Russia Probe Documents Within FBI Burn Bags

The annex set for public disclosure will be forwarded to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley. Grassley is expected to eventually make this document accessible to the public.

Earlier this year, Patel shared in a podcast interview with Joe Rogan that he stumbled upon a room filled with documents and hard drives, which had never been seen or acknowledged before.

Patel remarked, “Consider this: As the director of the FBI and previously associated with the Russiagate inquiry, I discovered a hidden room that James Comey and others had concealed from the public in the Hoover Building. This room was filled with documents and computer hard drives that had remained unseen. They locked it away, assumed no one would ever find it, and kept access hidden away from the world.”

Patel and his team are diligently reviewing the documents. Some of these materials pertain to sensitive investigations, including the FBI’s initial Trump-Russia investigation, internally designated as Crossfire Hurricane.

At present, the exact contents of the latest documents remain unclear. Nevertheless, sources indicated that the recent discoveries align with an investigative request from Senator Grassley.

In line with this, Patel has submitted the documents to Grassley, who has been actively pursuing information linked to Durham’s probe. Durham was appointed after the conclusion of special counsel Robert Mueller’s extensive investigation, which scrutinized the origins of the Trump-Russia probe, focusing on intelligence community misconduct before and after the 2016 election.

Fox News Digital’s sources conveyed that Grassley’s team is currently examining the fundamental information as part of their investigative work.

As for the remaining records, Patel’s staff is working to ensure these are provided to Congress in accordance with investigative requests from relevant committees.
