The leader of the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria has been eliminated, as confirmed by Iraq’s Prime Minister on Friday.
Abdallah Maki Mosleh al-Rifai, widely known as ‘Abu Khadija,’ was killed during a coordinated operation executed by the Iraqi national intelligence service in conjunction with U.S.-led coalition forces. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani made this announcement in an official statement.

The U.S. Central Command issued a statement detailing the military operation. The airstrike took place in Al Anbar Province, Iraq, resulting in the death of the ‘Global ISIS #2 leader, Chief of Global Operations, and the Delegated Committee Emir – Abdallah Makki Muslih al-Rifai, alias ‘Abu Khadijah,’ along with another ISIS operative.’
As the Emir overseeing the most senior decision-making body of ISIS, al-Rifai was charged with operational planning, logistics, and global finance management for the organization. CENTCOM stated that he also directed many of the operations that ISIS conducted worldwide.
