Legal Institute Celebrates Landmark SCOTUS Ruling Affirming Religious Liberty in America
A prominent legal organization dedicated to protecting the religious freedoms of Americans hailed the Supreme Court’s recent unanimous ruling in favor of the Catholic Charities Bureau as a significant milestone for religious liberty in the nation. The decision, which was delivered by a 9-0 vote, distinctly opposes government overreach into matters of faith and religious practice.
During an interview with Fox News Digital, Tiffany Dunkin, a legal fellow and attorney with the First Liberty Institute, expressed her views on the ruling. She characterized the unanimous decision as a straightforward affirmation of the rights afforded by the First Amendment. The court unanimously rejected Wisconsin’s attempt to deny a religious tax exemption to the Catholic Charities Bureau, which does not exclusively serve Catholics or engage in proselytizing activities.
