Miller did confess to placing parlay bets but firmly denied any involvement in point-shaving. The NCAA’s findings appeared to support Balogna’s perspective, acknowledging that they accepted Miller’s honesty and cooperation throughout the investigation.
Similarly, Temple University released a statement underscoring the lack of evidence regarding point-shaving linked to Miller. The university echoed Balogna’s sentiments, pointing out that a collaborative investigation with the NCAA turned up no signs of wrongdoing.
The Temple administration stated, “After a thorough and meticulous joint investigation, the NCAA found no evidence of point-shaving or any misconduct by the university. Temple’s administration and Athletics Department fully cooperated with the NCAA’s enforcement staff, providing access to relevant witnesses, documents, and electronic devices to facilitate a comprehensive, transparent, and complete review.”
Addressing the situation, the university emphasized, “This conduct does not align with Temple’s expectations or the NCAA’s bylaws. Upon learning of these issues, Temple took immediate corrective measures. The university is dedicated to robust compliance education for all athletic personnel to maintain adherence to NCAA and conference standards.”
Miller excelled as Temple’s leading scorer during the 2023-24 season, averaging 15.9 points per game. He transferred to Virginia Tech before the start of the 2024-25 season but faced dismissal due to unspecified circumstances identified prior to his enrollment, according to a Virginia Tech announcement.

The investigation also impacted other individuals connected to the Temple basketball program, including former student-athlete Camren Wynter, who served as a special assistant to the men’s basketball coach, and Jaylen Bond, a former graduate assistant.
