Marjorie Greene Warns Trump’s ‘Traitor’ Label Poses Threat to Her Safety

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia expressed deep concern on Sunday regarding a recent comment made by former President Donald Trump. After Trump labeled her a ‘traitor’ during a political fallout, Greene called his words ‘hurtful’ and cautioned that such rhetoric could endanger her life.

‘The most hurtful thing he said, which is absolutely untrue, is that he called me a traitor, and that is extremely wrong,’ Greene stated during an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash on the program ‘State of the Union.’

She went on to explain that words like Trump’s can incite people against her, heightening the risks to her safety. Greene emphasized the gravity of political language in today’s atmosphere, asserting its potential to radicalize individuals.

Trump’s Withdrawal of Support

Trump announced via Truth Social on Friday his decision to revoke his endorsement of Greene. He referred to her as a ‘ranting lunatic’ and accused her of focusing on complaints rather than celebrating his administration’s significant achievements.

According to Trump, Greene, who had been a long-time ally within the MAGA movement, was purportedly upset about his lack of communication. He claimed she had shifted towards the left and furthermore expressed his intention to support any conservative primary challenger against her in the upcoming 2026 midterms.

Response to Allegations

In her defense, Greene asserted that she had not reached out to Trump, providing evidence via text message screenshots she had sent. She suggested that her comments regarding the Epstein files triggered Trump’s reaction and contributed to their ongoing conflict.

During her interview, Greene reiterated her stance, stating, ‘Unfortunately, it has all come down to the Epstein files.’

Standing Up for Victims

Greene emphasized her commitment to supporting victims of sexual abuse. ‘I stand with these women, I stand with rape victims, I stand with children who are in terrible sex abuse situations,’ she declared. She criticized any attempt to protect powerful individuals who might have committed wrongdoings.

‘I believe the country deserves transparency with these files, and I don’t believe that rich, powerful people should be protected if they have done anything wrong,’ Greene asserted, showcasing her dedication to accountability.

Allegiance to Trump

Greene described her history of support for Trump, recounting her involvement during challenging times in his presidency, which encompassed several impeachment attempts. She actively campaigned alongside Trump in various Republican-led states, underlining her commitment to his agenda.

‘I stood with President Trump when virtually no one else did,’ she insisted, reflecting on her financial contributions to his campaign efforts. Greene remarked, ‘I think that’s incredibly important.’

Ongoing Support and Message of Unity

Despite the tensions, Greene affirmed her continuing support for Trump and his administration’s promises to the public. ‘His remarks have been incredibly hurtful,’ she acknowledged, ‘However, I have something in my heart that I think is incredibly important for our country, and that is to end the toxic fighting in politics.’

In response to the unfolding drama, a White House spokeswoman, Abigail Jackson, provided a statement addressing the current narrative surrounding Trump. She maintained that Democrats and the media were aware of Epstein and his victims for years and did nothing while Trump sought transparency.

Jackson emphasized that the administration will not be distracted by the media’s portrayal of the situation and intends to continue fulfilling its commitments to the American people, including addressing the significant economic challenges faced by citizens.

This political saga between Trump and Greene highlights the evolving dynamics within the Republican Party and raises serious questions about the impact of political language on individual safety and party unity. It remains to be seen how this feud will affect their respective political futures as the nation moves closer to the pivotal election cycle of 2024.
