Acclaimed filmmaker Martin Scorsese will return to Fox Nation with a second season of the innovative docudrama series ‘Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints.’ This highly anticipated season will consist of eight episodes, each highlighting the remarkable journeys of notable religious figures.
Each episode of the new season is dedicated to one saint’s exploration of faith and sacrifice. Viewers can look forward to intriguing stories about revered figures such as Saint Mary the Virgin, Saint Peter, Saint Patrick, and Carlo Acutis, recognized as the ‘patron saint of the internet.’ Acutis is notably the most recent individual, and the first millennial, to be acknowledged for sainthood.
Scorsese, who has long been drawn to tales of religious significance, shared that this series fulfills a personal ambition. He stated, ‘For many years, I dreamed of telling stories of the lives of the saints. It has been an obsession of mine for as long as I can remember.’ His enthusiasm for the project stems from a desire to authentically portray these impactful figures.
Fox News Media’s Chief Digital and Marketing Officer Jason Klarman highlighted the robust demand from audiences for additional episodes. ‘It was evident our subscribers wanted more, and we delivered,’ Klarman remarked. His excitement reflected the partnership between Fox Nation and Scorsese, which has yielded significant viewer engagement.
The first season of ‘The Saints’ shattered viewership records, securing its status as Fox Nation’s ‘highest-engaged and most-watched series of all time.’ The program consistently held the top position on the platform throughout its airing period. Season one featured captivating retellings of the lives of influential figures such as Joan of Arc, John the Baptist, Mary Magdalene, and others.
Matti Leshem, the series creator, expressed his gratitude for the public’s enthusiastic response to the show. He shared, ‘The Saints celebrates the very best of humanity—courage, sacrifice, and above all, faith.’ Such sentiments underscore the show’s impact on viewers and its broader cultural significance.
Scorsese’s illustrious career spans more than five decades, making him an iconic figure in the film industry. His extensive accolades include the Academy Award for Best Director for his 2006 film ‘The Departed,’ which also won Best Picture, Best Editing, and Best Writing at the 2007 Oscars. He is known for directing numerous landmark films, including ‘Goodfellas,’ ‘The Wolf of Wall Street,’ ‘Raging Bull,’ and ‘The Irishman.’
The second season of ‘Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints’ will be divided into two halves, with the first set of four episodes scheduled to premiere weekly in November 2025. The remaining four episodes will debut in the spring and are expected to conclude in May 2026 on Fox Nation. This staggered release pattern aims to maintain viewer interest and engagement throughout both phases.
The continued success and growth of ‘The Saints’ demonstrate the audience’s hunger for compelling storytelling centered on faith and the human experience. As Scorsese embarks on this new chapter, the anticipation surrounding the second season remains palpable. The series not only entertains but also encourages reflection on faith and humanity.
As the release date approaches, fans and newcomers alike are sure to tune in for another round of inspirational tales showcasing the lives of these extraordinary saints.
